The APTI (Association of Professional Taekwondo Instructors) was founded at our very own school here in Carlisle under the leadership of Carlisle Taekwondo School's founder Master Ian Ferguson in the year 2000 - a former world champion and legendary fighter in the martial arts world! Carlisle Taekwondo Schools current senior Instructor Mr Cruickshank is one of Master Ferguson's senior black belts and the associations National Secretary today. Since the association began many schools and independent groups have joined the association from all over the country over the years, even members of the association have gone on to run their own associations and groups as time has gone on. Through Master Ferguson's (Chief Instructor of the A.P.T.I.) successful career in Taekwon-Do he has loyal friendships/links with some of the UK's most successful Taekwon-Do practitioners and as a result the association offers a good variety of seminars and competitions from all areas of Taekwon-do and in the martial arts world.
