Association of Professional Taekwon-Do Instructors (APTI)
The Association of Professional Taekwon-Do Instructors (APTI) was founded in 2000 at Carlisle Taekwon-Do School by Master Ian Ferguson (8th Dan). Since its formation, the APTI has grown into a respected national organisation, bringing together professional instructors, independent schools, and clubs from across the United Kingdom.
Master Ferguson, a former World Champion and one of the UK's most highly respected Taekwon-Do practitioners, has dedicated decades to developing high standards of instruction, education, and technical excellence. Under his leadership, the APTI has established a reputation for producing outstanding instructors and supporting the continued development of Taekwon-Do throughout the UK.
Today, Carlisle Taekwon-Do School continues to play a central role within the association. The school's Chief Instructor, Mr Fraser Cruickshank (6th Dan)—one of Master Ferguson's senior black belts—serves as the National Secretary of the APTI, helping to oversee the organisation's ongoing growth and development.
Through Master Ferguson's extensive experience and longstanding relationships within the international Taekwon-Do community, the APTI provides members with access to a wide range of seminars, instructor development courses, grading opportunities, national events, and competitions. These opportunities enable students and instructors alike to continually develop their skills while maintaining the highest technical standards.
