The Association of Professional Taekwondo Instructors (APTI) was established at our school in Carlisle, led by the founder of Carlisle Taekwondo School, Master Ian Ferguson, in 2000. Master Ferguson, a former world champion and a renowned figure in martial arts, has contributed significantly to the APTI's growth. The current senior instructor at Carlisle Taekwondo School, Mr. Cruickshank, who is also one of Master Ferguson's senior black belts, serves as the National Secretary of the association. Over the years, numerous schools and independent groups from across the nation have joined the APTI, and some members have even started their own associations and groups. Master Ferguson's esteemed career in Taekwon-Do and his connections with some of the UK's top practitioners have enabled the APTI to offer a diverse range of seminars and competitions, enriching the martial arts community.
